For some, the creation of an image presents many barriers. Many images are created by calibrating with models and make up artists

Having storyboards and moodboards does help. I often start with sketches, lighting diagrams and colour swatches.

Sketches will allow me to work out how much time  is required. That time can be split between make-up artist and photographer and also allow the model to have breaks if required

Lighting diagrams are used to create Kit lists. I will often add pose sketches to this allowing everyone involved to have an understanding of my ideas

Colour swatches are used as a guide to how the final image will look
