I have been wanting to create a pop-up studio for a long time. This was always within my abilities but what I wanted was a system that could be used without relying on mains power. With the introduction of Godox / PIXAPRO battery powered flash heads this became a reslity. Mains power is still required to power the printer and recharge the various batteries but the big advantage is the ‘trip hazard’ has now been significantly reduced I could have used any camera for this but decided to use a Panasonic Lumix UK GH5. Not the easiest camera to use... well, to my suprise it was quite easy. The one important part of this was the Panasonic tether app. This is a free app and all you need to do is download it from the Panasonic website. You will need your GH5, GH5s or G9 serial number. The software works very well and allows control of the camera from your Mac or PC. Lumix now use USBc and the supplied cable is not suitable so buy a decent cable

Next was the tricky bit. I need our image to open in Adobe Lightroom. I had already created a folder to store the images from the teather software so in Lightroom I clicked on file and ‘Auto Import’ then selected the folder I had used for the teather software. It all worked well.
